Dentofacial Mechanobiology Laboratory
|
Welcome!
The Yang Lab, also called the dentofacial mechanobiology laboratory, is directed by Dr. Xianui Yang in the Department of Orthodontics at the UFCD (University of Florida College of Dentistry). We are dedicated to unraveling the mechanobiological mechanisms of dentofacial bone turnover and helping with potential clinical translational applications during tooth movement. |
Basic ScienceWe are conducting in vitro cell cultures with mechanical forces, as well as developing organ-on-a-chip platforms to mimic alveolar bone remodeling to investigate its cellular mechanisms. We also create animal models with orthodontic tooth movement to explore the biological mechanisms of dentofacial bone remodeling under force in vivo.

Clinical Research Collecting patients' samples, we carry out some clinical trials, as well as perform sequencing and mass spec to analyze the difference between the experimental and control groups to understand the biological markers change, which will help to provide patients with better diagnoses and treatment in the future.
