Welcome to the Yang Lab at UFCD
The Yang Lab at UFCD (University of Florida College of Dentistry) is dedicated to unraveling the mechanism of bone turnover and hopes to provide patients with better treatment.
|
Alveolar Bone RemodelingWe have been using animal models with orthodontic tooth movement to explore the mechanism during alveolar bone remodeling in vivo. We also conduct in vitro cell cultures with compression and tension forces mimicking bone remodeling to investigate its biological process.
|
Craniofacial Bone RegenerationCollaborating with biomaterial labs, we are testing the effectiveness and efficiency of novel biomaterials for promoting craniofacial bone regeneration by using animal models with craniofacial bone defects. Moreover, we also explore the biological mechanism of biomaterials and biomolecules in regulating osteogenic differentiation of stromal cells.

Translational and Clinical Research
Working with patients, we carry out some clinical trials, as well as perform sequencing and mass spec to analyze the difference in the transcriptome, PTMome, and protein expression between the experimental and control groups to understand the chemical biological mechanism happening within the progress of diseases, which will help to provide patients with better treatment in the future.
